AI background generator for product and model photos

Describe the background you want. The product, or the person, stays exactly as photographed; what is behind them is generated and lit to match.

What the background generator does

It changes the background of a picture from a sentence. You upload the photo, write what should be behind the subject, and the tool keeps the subject's edge and shadow while generating the new surroundings. One photo of a product becomes a studio shot, a colour backdrop and a lifestyle scene without a reshoot.

It is one tool in MotionArt's ecommerce photo editing toolkit, and the usual next step after an AI product photoshoot when the same product needs several placements.

Three background jobs, with the words to type

A solid colour backdrop

For a colourway grid or a brand-coloured product page. The subject keeps its edge and its shadow; the backdrop becomes one flat colour.

solid pale grey studio backdrop, soft shadow under the product

A studio sweep

The curved, evenly lit background a studio shoot gives. Add the light direction and the result is lit to match.

A lifestyle setting

The product where it gets used. Name the surface, the room and the light, and keep the sentence short.

oak kitchen counter, morning window light, blurred shelves behind

Fashion model backgrounds

A model photo works the same way as a product photo: the person and the garment stay, the setting changes. Generate the studio sweep for the product page and the street for the campaign from one worn image. The rest of the on-model work is in the AI fashion models toolkit.

What to check before you publish

The edge

A fine halo along hair, fur or a frayed edge means the cut-out missed. Re-run with a plainer background description, or cut out first with the background remover and place the PNG yourself.

The shadow

Describe the light direction in the prompt so the generated shadow falls the same way as the shadow on the product. A product lit from the left on a scene lit from the right reads as pasted in.

Reflections

Glossy bottles, glass and metal carry a reflection of the original room. A new background does not change that reflection, so for high-gloss products shoot on the background you want.

For a white main image, use the remover instead

A marketplace main image wants the product on pure white with nothing else in frame, and a generated backdrop is not the same as a cut-out on white. Remove the background, place the cut-out on white with the listing generator, and check the final file against your category's current requirements. Use the generator on this page for the gallery and lifestyle slots.

Questions about generated backgrounds

No. The subject, its pose and its edge stay as shot; only what is behind it is generated. The light on the new background is matched to the subject, which is why the prompt should say where the light comes from.
