Seedance
Seedance is ByteDance's video generation line, and the part of its Seed family that makes moving pictures rather than still ones. Every model here takes one of three routes into a clip — a text prompt, a single image to animate, or a set of reference images, videos and audio to build from — and generates the soundtrack along with the picture rather than leaving you to add it afterwards. The line splits by tier as much as by version. Seedance 2.0 is the current generation, with Fast and Mini variants that trade a little fidelity for markedly lower latency and cost; 1.5 Pro and 1.0 Pro remain for work already built around them. Seedance 2.5 was announced in June 2026 and is not yet available through any API — its page explains what changes when it is.
